Client: The Green House Hotel
Description of Work: Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Maintenance
Duration: January 2014 – On-going
The Green House Hotel is a unique property in Bournemouth, which lives and breathes sustainability. The hotel underwent a major refurbishment in 2010, where our sister company Wessex Building Services installed a brand new solar panel heating system. Everything about the hotel is green, from the energy efficient lighting to the 100% locally sourced wool carpets!
The weekend before Christmas, the Green House Hotel was struck by lightning. The hotel suffered from a whole range of damage, which included a large hole in the roof. Not only that, but the Gent addressable fire alarm was not operational. They were faced with having to close the night before Christmas, and let down their guests.
As the supplier of the original system the hotel management approached Wessex Fire and Security for help. We sent our Fire Alarm Senior engineer, Jason Wilding who worked long into the night on the 23rd of December and was able to replace the Gent panel and key parts of the system to enable the hotel to continue with their Christmas plans. The remainder of the system was repaired or replaced in the New Year.
Due to the high standard of service and technical knowledge from our engineers, they approached us again in January and requested our costs for the maintenance of the fire alarm and fire extinguishers. A price has now been agreed and we will be responsible for the maintenance of their systems and extinguishers in the future.
“We were extremely impressed with the service Wessex Fire and Security provided over the Christmas period, and we look forward to working with them in the future”
Louise Chapman, Manager, Green House Hotel
