Emergency
Lights

In the event of a fire or power outage, emergency lighting gives you the confidence that you will have the lighting you need promptly, automatically and in the most appropriate locations. Emergency lighting can make sure you and your family can move about your home and exit in the event of an emergency.

Why lighting?

Your lighting may fail in the event of a mains power outage, a fire or other disruption to your power supply. Moving about your home in the dark can be particularly dangerous and stressful for the vulnerable, young, or older members of your family.

Emergency lighting is lighting that automatically comes on when the power supply to the normal lighting provision fails. There are many different places that emergency lighting can be effective but the most important of these is escape route lighting,  provided to ensure that exit routes can be quickly identified and safely used by anyone in your home at the time of an outage.

Appropriate, effective, safe

There is a huge range of emergency lighting available including variations in power supply, operation and duration. Wessex can help you cut through all this complexity and create the most effective system to keep your family safe.

Most new multi-level buildings, flats and apartments have emergency lighting installed during construction and Wessex frequently work with surveyors and architects at the planning stage to advise on and supply the appropriate system. For existing homes Wessex can carry out an initial consultation and design for you and, together, we can establish a plan detailing the areas to be covered, the type and power supply of the lighting, the mode of operation, facilities and duration. We can then supply, install and provide maintenance for your system ongoing.

Discrete, self powered

Don’t worry, emergency lighting need not be an eyesore in your home! Modern solutions can be subtle and discrete, sympathetically blending into your home décor.

Maintenance, servicing and testing

Keeping your emergency lighting system up to date and well tested is essential. Wessex offers full maintain and test packages to homeowners as standard.

Self-contained power supply

Single point powered emergency lighting is a great option to keep costs down without compromising on safety.
