At Wessex Group we know that it is the duty of the Directors to do everything reasonably practicable to prevent injury and ill-health to our staff and customers, and to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
We are proud to have developed an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, adhered to across the Wessex Group, that is certified compliant to international standard ISO 45001:2018. This standard helps businesses ‘achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognised best practice.’
In 2021, we received a Gold Award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in recognition of the Health & Safety standards and procedures that we employ across our businesses.
The RoSPA Awards are internationally recognised and the highest possible accolade in the UK and are awarded to world-leaders in health and safety practice.
Wessex Group recognise the importance of effectively consulting and communicating with staff in creating a safe and pleasant working environment.
As well as regular employee representation at board and directors forums, we dedicate four full days a year to proactively gathering staff input and raising awareness on the importance of working safely. As such, our staff know that should a conflict ever arise between the demands of production and safety, they will always have business support in prioritising their own and others’ safety.
