Marks & Spencer – Maintenance

Client: Marks and Spencer

Location: 103 sites across the south

Description of Work: Electrical Maintenance

Duration: 2006 – On-going

Marks and Spencer is one of Britain’s biggest multinational retailers, with over 700 stores in the UK and over 360 stores spread across 40 countries. M&S was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer, and they sell a huge variety of food, clothes, technology and homeware, to name just a few products.

We have been working with Marks and Spencer since 2006. Initially, we covered a relatively small geographical area, with a contract value of around £500,000 a year.

We now provide coverage across much of southern England and the contract value has increased to £2,500,000 a year.

We work very closely with the regional RSM’s and local Store Managers and are very aware of the importance of keeping the trading environment at a standard where it improves the experience of the consumer.

We currently assist in carrying out the 5 year Electrical Condition Test & Report with an independent third party and undertake the electrical remedial works.

This work often required us to dispatch up to six Electricians per site to  and undertake the majority of works between 11pm & 6am, allowing the store to keep trading wothout disruption.

“The Wessex Group are a caring family company with the resources and ability to manage large M&E projects.  With 1st class engineers and excellent office support, they go above and beyond to get the job done.  They fully understand H&S and seem to put the welfare of all of their staff at the forefront of their minds in everything they do.

In today’s market, where customer service is paramount, and where budgets are challenged and service expectations increased; Wessex are a ‘must’ in a serious business’s suppliers portfolio”

Russell Cooper, Head of Stores FM, Marks & Spencer
