Access Control Systems for Proctor & Gamble

Client: Proctor & Gamble

Location: Poole

Description of Work: Access control install works

Background:

Proctor & Gamble are a multinational manufacturer of product ranges including personal care, household cleaning, laundry detergents, prescription drugs and disposable nappies.

Wessex Fire & Security were instructed to install additional access control throughout the manufacturing processes hub in Poole, Dorset.

With a global company as this, many of the staff and management also work abroad so their proximity access cards had to be able to work on all sites both in the UK and overseas.

Scope:

The overall design of the access control system was carried out by Wessex in conjunction with the client incorporating the complex procedures operated at the site and the need for movement of people to be monitored. Special circumstances to be considered included: pedestrian doors giving access into the production areas, turnstiles for access into the site, interlocking doors and vehicle access through certain entrances all via strategically placed card readers.

The installation itself consisted of an additional 20 card readers together with locks and interfaces operating various doors and turnstiles via a PC based software system which is monitored by the on site security personnel.

Technically challenging as well as working in operational manufacturing environment with strict Health & Safety issues our engineers completed the installation on time and to the clients satisfaction.

Dave Strutt – Senior Contracts Manager said “Wessex Installation work was very good and their personnel were extremely helpful in providing a reliable and courteous service.”
