Rossmore Leisure Centre is operated by Everyone Active, part of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd who are the longest-established leisure contractor in the UK with over 200 leisure and cultural centres across the country.
The centres are run in association with Local Authorities and provide a valuable resource for local communities.
Rossmore Leisure Centre is a thriving centre, operating a vast range of activities and programmes for all ages. It is also home to OLGA Gymnastics & Trampoline Club – one of Dorset’s most successful and established gymnastics clubs, and one of the leading performance clubs in the UK.
Wessex Electricals were instructed to upgrade the lighting provision in the Sports Hall for OLGA. The team replaced the existing 120 lux lighting to 500 lux which is the optimum level required for their professional competitions.
The team also upgraded the lighting facilities in the swimming pool area to LED Corn Lights. These lights are an energy efficient replacement to high intensity discharge (HID) lamps and SON lamps. They use a large arrangement of LEDs on their metal structure to provide a large amount of light. This arrangement of LEDs closely resembles a corn cob, hence the name “corn lights” and are the preferred lighting for areas requiring a lot of light for example car parks, sports centres and stadiums.
The teams completed the works quickly and efficiently with no disruption to the facilities or visitors.
