Client: Stonewater Housing
Location: Brixham, Devon
Description of Work: Roofing repairs and additional works
Background:
Stonewater is a leading social housing provider, with a mission to deliver good quality, affordable homes to people who need them most. Combe Bank is a large residential building in Brixham, Devon, consisting up of 65 apartments, providing specialist accommodation for the vulnerable.
Scope:
The team erected scaffolding around the entire building up to roof height to allow us to carry out extensive roof repairs. We removed the existing damaged bird prevention equipment and replaced with new. We also decorated the rendered walls, installed a hedgehog gutter guard system and a continuous polypropylene ‘brush’ which prevents the build-up of wind-blown debris.
Following inspection we found Asbestos to be present which was carefully removed and replaced with a safe and compliant alternative.
The team also refurbished a gas heater room which included a new roof and door, making the facility safer and more secure.
Diane Reynolds, Retirement Living Team Leader, Stonewater Housing said “The Wessex planned works at Combe Bank were completed professionally, staff were easily identifiable and completed in agreed time scale. Residents at Combe Bank are vulnerable and this was taken into consideration at all times residents were kept informed of works progress and any change to planned schedules. Scheme Manager was kept up to date with all site staff and works being completed any issues raised were addressed professionally and promptly which prevent any concerns to residents at the scheme”
