Client: Hampshire County Council
Location: Osborne School, Winchester
Description of Works: Replacement Fire Alarm
Duration: July – September 2015
Osborne School is a community special school in Winchester catering for pupils between the ages of 11 and 19. The school was created following the closure and amalgamation of two schools for learners with moderate learning difficulties and severe learning difficulties and moved into brand new, purpose built accommodation in September 2003.
WF&S were asked in July of 2015 to quote for the replacement of a closed protocol fire alarm system covering the main school and the adjacent student accommodation building.
It was requested to carry out a survey of the existing systems at short notice with possibility of the replacement of both systems being carried out during the summer holidays to ensure minimal disruption to staff and students.
After some delay we were instructed to carry out the works in the first week of Aug, working around and in co-ordination with other contractors. The works were completed skilfully by our engineers in good time and in readiness for the new school term.
