Client: The Green House Hotel
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Description of Work: Fire Alarm and Extinguisher Maintenance
Background:
The Green House Hotel is a unique property in Bournemouth, which lives and breathes sustainability. The hotel underwent a major refurbishment in 2010 including the installation of a brand new solar panel heating system by the Wessex Electricals team. Everything about the hotel is green, from the energy efficient lighting to the 100% locally sourced wool carpets.
Scope:
The weekend before Christmas, the Green House Hotel was struck by lightning. The hotel suffered from significant damage, including a large hole in the roof and loss of operation of the Gent addressable fire alarm. Faced with having to close the night before Christmas, and let down their guests, Wessex were called in to help.
As the supplier of the original system, we sent our Senior Fire Alarm Engineer Jason Wilding, who worked through the night on the 23rd of December to replace the Gent panel and key parts of the system to enable the hotel to continue with their Christmas plans.
Due to the high standard of service and technical knowledge from our engineers, The Green House Hotel instructed us for the maintenance of the fire alarm and fire extinguishers. We will now also be responsible for the maintenance of their systems and extinguishers in the future.
Louise Chapman, Manager, Green House Hotel said “We were extremely impressed with the service Wessex Fire and Security provided over the Christmas period, and we look forward to working with them in the future”
