THIS ROLE IS NOT REMOTE AND REQUIRES ATTENDANCE AT OUR DORSET OFFICES FULL TIME. IT IS ALSO FOR A FIRE AND SECURITY SYSTEMS SUPPORT PERSON NOT IT TECH SUPPORT. ALTHOUGH OUR SYSTEMS OPERATE THROUGH NETWORKS AND THE IOT SO SOME KNOWLEDGE IS USEFUL, YOU WILL BE ADVISING ENGINEERS AND CUSTOMERS ON FIRE AND SECURITY SYSTEMS AND MENUS/PROGRAMMES.

We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic individual to join our Fire & Security Service team as an experienced or trainee first line technical support to work in our offices at our head office in Shaftesbury Dorset. Candidates will ideally have some experience or knowledge in the electrical/fire/security or telecoms industry and may have completed initial training or worked in a supportive role in a field or office environment before and wish to direct their career further into this customer facing technical support role. Full training can be offered along the way through our leading and recognised training academies with Tavcom, CSL, FIA, BAFE, and GENT as well as our in house trainers.

We are the service provider of choice to many of the region’s leading businesses, sites and attractions as well as having a substantial private residential portfolio, looking after the homes of customers across six counties. With a strong pipeline of business and continuing award of large scale sites, we are recruiting for additional support in our technical department to assist with inbound calls from clients, manufacturers, and in house engineer teams to support the day to day functions.

Our head office is based in Shaftesbury where the successful candidate will be stationed to deliver line one support to our engineer teams and customers utilising our databases and the wider team whilst reporting to the technical manager.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of a growing team becoming the next generation of technical support for the south west’s most established fire and security company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To learn, experience and develop the skills to support our service and maintenance works across a wide range of fire and security systems in line with current industry standards and client requirements from a remote office setting.
  • Comply with all H&S legislation, industry standards and all company policies at all times.
  • Work closely with the technical manager and experienced mentors and training providers to gain the necessary skills and experience to become an established tech support agent.
  • Correctly complete company paperwork to include engineer service reports, certificates, and job details as appropriate using IT equipment and software packages.

What do we need from you:

  • Strong desire to learn and progress in the industry and have a keen interest in new technologies and systems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office & basic IT skills
  • Good communication, calculation & literacy skills
  • Good time management, ability to work as part of a team or individually
  • Become a real team player
  • Industry experience or similar in an electrically biased role preferable, however thorough training will be offered through our in-house teams and industry academies to help applicants achieve the full skillset required
  • Good communication skills with a high level of customer service
  • Minimum grade A-C or modern day equivalent in Maths, English and Science
  • Able to obtain clean DBS

Pay: From £12.50 to £14.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
