Background:

Originally named the Royal British Legion, Housing 21 began in 1964 and is the UK’S largest not-for-profit organisation. They changed their name in 1992 to Housing 21 and provide sheltered accommodation and support for older people. They manage over 18,000 sheltered, extra care apartments and bungalows in 470 schemes working in 240 local authority areas.

Scope:

Wessex provide solutions across Central and South West England for Housing 21 sheltered housing schemes. The teams maintain all fire alarms and emergency lighting, as well as providing an emergency response service. Our quick response ensures that all emergencies are dealt with quickly and efficiently with minimum disruption to residents and staff.

Our in house teams at Wessex, along with field based Engineers, work seamlessly with Housing 21 site and court managers, who in turn liaise with Resident’s to facilitate access to the sites. We have an immensely strong track record in working with Housing Associations and are very proud to be the provider of choice for Housing 21.
