Originally named the Royal British Legion, Housing 21 began in 1964 and is the UK’S largest not-for-profit organisation. They changed their name in 1992 to Housing 21 and provide sheltered accommodation and support for older people. They manage over 18,000 sheltered, extra care apartments and bungalows in 470 schemes working in 240 local authority areas.
We have a comprehensive contract across a wide spread of sheltered housing schemes in Central South West England. We maintain all their fire alarms and emergency lighting, providing a 4 hour response service. Our quick response is key to the success of this contract as any emergencies need to be dealt with quickly and efficiently, to ensure we do not disturb any of the residents. There is a lot of co-ordination involved in this contact as we need to liaise with site and court managers, who in turn will need to work with the resident’s to allow us access to the sites. We manage this contract extremely well, hence our successful contract extension of a year in 2013.
