Location: Brixham, Devon
Description of Work: Roofing repairs and additional works
Duration: March – July 2014
Combe Bank is a large residential building made up of 65 apartments, providing special accommodation for the elderly. The works are part of the SW2 area which Wessex currently cover and involved a variety of roof works.
We erected scaffolding around the entire building up to roof height to allow us to carry out extensive roof repairs. We removed the existing bird prevention measures and replaced with a new setup as the previous one was damaged. We also decorated the rendered walls and installed a hedgehog gutter guard system, a continuous polypropylene ‘brush’ which prevents the build-up of wind-blown debris.
As well as the above, Asbestos was found which we removed promptly. Finally, we refurbished a gas heater room which included a new roof and door.
“Wessex planned works at Combe Bank were completed professionally, staff were easily identifiable and completed in agreed time scale. Residents at Combe Bank are vulnerable and this was taken into consideration at all times residents were kept informed of works progress and any change to planned schedules. Scheme Manager was kept up to date with all site staff and works being completed any issues raised were addressed professionally and promptly which prevent any concerns to residents at the scheme”
