Wessex Renewables will be installing a huge 94 kWp system, a total of 376 panels at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This will be their largest single system that they have ever installed.
It is part of a large project for the new Jigsaw building designed for women’s health; it will bring together oncology, haematology, gynaecology, breast care and early pregnancy in two new units.
As part of the planning conditions for this building, the hospital had to offset a certain amount of it carbon emissions by installing a large PV system. Thomas Mortimer attended site with Worldwise and it was discovered that the best site for the panels would be on the hospital’s existing roof. Works are due to start early April time.
