It had been starting to feel like we were never going to get a break from the horrendous weather, and many villages are unfortunately still recovering.
We were battered with even more torrential rain, hurricane winds and severe flooding last month that has left much of the South in turmoil. The bad weather has led to a huge increase in emergency calls at Wessex.
Wessex Fire and Security had in excess of 50 out of hours calls on Saturday alone.
Wessex Electricals attended 65 out of hour calls across the weekend, whilst SMS had 200% extra calls and 300% extra alarms activating in just one weekend.
This time last year, Wessex Property Care had 30 roofing call outs jobs….this year they had 199!
