Newlands Primary School £1.1 million M&E Project
Following the successful completion of Southampton Dock Gate 20 with Mansell Construction, Wessex was given the opportunity to compete for a competitive tender for the mechanical and electrical installation and services for a new school wing for Newlands Primary School in Southampton.
Wessex was delighted to have been awarded this project which will occupy around 18 directly employed mechanical and electrical operatives. The works are due to commence in February 2012 and be completed around November the same year.

It is helpful to have a contractor that has learnt lessons from similar projects recently completed such as Dock Gate 20 and can learn to improve on future projects. Wessex is a good regional provider and there is synergy between our companies that allow for a good understanding of the market in which we operate when managing large projects. In addition, Wessex have signed up to Mansell’s zero harm Health & Safety accreditation program and similarly to Mansell, they are also pro-active in their intake and support of apprentices.”
