Spetisbury Construction chose Wessex Building Services to take control over the complete electrical, heating and ventilation installation to the green house in Bournemouth (City Eco Hotel)
The green house will be a beautiful boutique hotel that lives and breathes sustainability. Situated in the heart of Bournemouth, the green house opens in April 2010 after undergoing a complete refurbishment.
Wessex installed a 5 panel solar heating system, a CHP (combined heat & power) generator unit producing 5.5kWh of electricity, a boiler system running in 100% condensing mode, high efficiency pipe work / fittings and intelligent lighting to reduce power consumption together with a full electrical rewire, heating, ventilation and plumbing installations.
In addition to their very strict requirement for such sustainable energy solutions, Wessex were also required to fit sustainable sanitary-ware such as hand basins (carved from solid stone) mounted on oak pedestals (made from reclaimed oak)
“Wessex was a good choice as they incorporate both mechanical and electrical disciplines and coordinate works extremely well; we are always pleased when using Wessex.”
