Credit Controller - Shaftesbury - Wessex Group

The Wessex Group are a family run company based in Dorset.  This role reports directly to the Group Finance Director and will handle the collection of finances for two of our companies. 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Timely and effective collection of all debts and customers payments which could involve undertaking legal action if customer fails to pay
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and other staff members to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Attendance at monthly meetings to update Group FD and Managing Director on overdue debtor balances.
  • Production of weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Applying for credit insurance when required and maintaining spreadsheet of limits in place

Person Specification

  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Qualifications/Experience

  • Good standard of education (at least five GCSE grades A-C)
  • Previous experience of credit control is not essential but would be an advantage
